Shell's Army Fighting With Her & For Her

In a split second an accident can happen and life is changed forever. Michelle Jeffery(Shell) loves the ocean, she loved to surf with her partner Kurt, her twin daughters Ashlee and Madison, with her extended family and friends extended family and friends from Shelly Beach Malibu Club and North Entrance Surf Club. On Saturday 14th June 2014, Shell's life changed forever. Shell was board training with her team at North Entrance beach in preparation for the upcoming Surf Life Saving Masters season when she was knocked off her board by a wave. Her team members rescued her from the water, and then she was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital. Shell has remained in the specialized spinal unit at Royal North Shore Hospital for the past 3 months, after a week in ICU to recover from surgery. The surgery was successful but damage to the spinal cord is extensive, the diagnosis is an incomplete quadriplegic. At the moment Shell's mobility is extremely impaired and her recovery time is unknown however she is determinedly undertaking rehabilitation. Shell is the first to come to the rescue when somebody is in need. There is a fundraising event being held on Saturday 29th November at Mingara Recreation Club.
