About Budgewoi
Located on the road north of the Sydney central business district. Budgewoi is one of the coastal suburbs in the Central Coast. History of Budgewoi
The original name of Budgewoi was Pudgeway, an Aboriginal term for young grass. But, Bruce Russell “From Pudgeway to Budgewoi in 1984”, stated that it is the aboriginal name for the area as Budjeri that means "good conditions". According to history, John Slade offered a grant of 640 acres but seems not to have taken up the proposal in 1827. On 11 August 1843, Robert Henderson was granted 640 acres now acknowledged as the Budgewoi.
